Casting for PAID roles – music promo!
We are casting the following roles for a music promo on 14th Jan:
ALL NECESSARY COVID GUIDELINES ARE BEING FOLLOWED
Cast for Caribbean focussed culture UK rap video represented by one of the most established labels for urban music in London.
Barber – (male, black, 30’s) sharp looking, experience cutting hair ideal but not necessary. You’ll be I interacting with the lead artist but not actually cutting hair. Due to covid safety we’re asking cast to bring their own costume – dark colours, no obvious logos, some “bling”.
Barber shop owner – (female, black, 40-60s) we’re looking for interesting faces. She is a large character, you might thinks she’s someones aunty but actually she’s running a front for an underground speakeasy style club. We don’t know if she’s going to cook dinner of break for legs if you dont pay the barber – so actor must be able to play two sides of this personality. You’ll be interacting directly with the lead artists. Due to covid safety we’re asking cast to bring their own costume – block colours, no obvious logos, some “bling”.
Olders playing dominos – (male, black, 60-80’s) we’re looking for characterful faces. Two older Jamaican gentlemen playing dominos in the barber shop – the lead artist will sit down with you and place bets on which one of you is going to win. Ideally we’re looking for actors who can play dominos, your character looks like they may have a history but theyre not retired and leave the mischief up to the Youngers. Due to covid safetyuy restrictions we’re asking actors to bring their own costumes – whatever you feel comfortable in, no large logos, perhaps a hat and a jacket.
Money runner – (Male, Black, 16-18) Must be able to play younger. Your character opens the music video and leads us into meeting the led artists. Young, street wise, ambition in his eyes our young character picks up a huge bag of cash from a sketchy looking old rasta and runs its to our lead characters. Due to covid safety restrictions we’re asking actors to bring their own costumes – grey/black tracksuit, maybe a new era cap, but no big logos please.
The money man – (Male, black, 50-60s) Dreadlocks would be ideal but not essential think an older looking Movado or Vybz Kartel. We open our video with your character handing over a huge bag of money to a young money mule. Hard eyes, characterful face – your character has been through It and seen it all. Probably high up in a criminal organisation, he is confident but we’re unable to read what is going on behind the eyes.
If you’re comfortable smoking for one shot that would be a bonus but again, not essential. Due to covid safety restrictions we’re asking actors to bring their own costumes please – we’re interested and open to your interpretation. Perhaps a long coat and a hat? Or the complete opposite of a white rest and baggy jeans.
We are also looking for 4 X Female Extras (some dance experience would be ideal but not a deal breaker.
